Amidst the sweltering Summer ‘25 heat in the suburbs of Chicago, Kevin Slimko and Edward Gearen V opened up Slim & Eddie’s Barber Company in Lake in the Hills. The creative process of figuring out the name took 4 minutes for these mental and physical giants. Kevin opened Slim’s Barber Shop in nearby Crystal Lake 20 years prior. The process of building and maintaining the business was by no means easy… but also time consuming? So why not do it again? This time, Eddie joined Slim to create a partnership that will no doubt go down in history as the greatest barber shop Lake in the Hills has ever seen.

Eddie started working at Slim’s Barber Shop in 2023. He was helping Slim deal with being shorthanded and Slim was helping Eddie gain knowledge and experience. After a few months, Eddie took his newfound talents to Arizona. A few months after that, he decided the heat, dust, no family around and the public library situation were not for him and his wife, so they moved back to the suburbs of Chicago. Slim was waiting for him with a sandwich from Algonquin Sub Shop and a big hug. Eddie hit the familiar ground running and quickly improved haircut after haircut. Slim didn’t want to lose Eddie, so when Eddie suggested they partner up for a new shop, Slim accepted. Slim & Eddie’s Barber Company was born. So here we are… Slim has opened up next to yet another pizza place that Eddie found in the section of Lake in the Hills that has a lake and hills. You can expect to have your haircut in a clean, relaxed, fun environment. You might even enjoy playing some Mario Kart 64.
